Spring’s Blooms of the Moment.

Spring is in full bloom, and we’re designing daily with some of the season’s most expressive stems.

Here are a few of the stems we’re loving most right now, all of which were also featured in our Mother’s Day Collection.

Local tulips are especially beautiful.

They are quite different from the small tulips you might picture in your mind. The heirloom varieties often open in a way that reads almost like peonies, and the parrot types take on a more Renaissance feel, like something painted rather than grown.

They’re one of the most versatile blooms we see. Once they’re in water, they continue to change quickly. Opening, leaning, and shifting in their own direction overnight. It is a joy to observe their movement.

Bearded iris are always a moment for us.

They are cut when the buds are extremely tight, which creates a lovely visual line in designs. Then they bloom over just a few days before they’re done.

When they are open, they feel almost unreal. Shimmery, crystalline, like a true iridescent jewel. There’s a structured quality to them, but there’s also a very delicate presence in the way they catch light. They feel like a luxury to have in the room.

Butterfly ranunculus are especially generous.

The stems from our local growers often come with multiple sprays of buds, so they can last weeks, as each bud opens over time.

Many people don’t immediately recognize them, which makes them a surprising delight. A closer look reveals petal colours that shift between dark and light, creating a subtle, beautiful gradient.
